1p "Fika with Annika" Re-play
March 2, 2025 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Anza, CA 92539, USA
"Fika with Annika" with local host Annika Knoppel
Wednesdays 3 p.m. with replay Sundays 1 p.m. Listen on air at 97.1 lpFM on your radio dial, or log into the KOYT 97.1 FM Anza Community Broadcasting website www.koyt971.org and launch the Player, from your computer, tablet or smartphone.
Swedes engage in a daily ritual of gathering together with family, friends, or co-workers for...gasps...coffee breaks and Swedish pastries such as fikabrod and cinnamon buns, or kanelbulle.
Okay, we know what you’re thinking: We, coffee lovers, do this all the time here in America. Sure, but fika doesn’t involve a quick run to Starbucks after work or chatting briefly with co-workers by the office coffee machine. In Sweden, fika is all about pausing for a moment to appreciate the best (and free) things in life, like joy, family, life, friends, and love. Whereas in America, we’re grabbing our venti lattes to-go. There, fika symbolizes a true break and really slowing down. Here, we seek out coffee to fuel up and get through the day much faster.

O.N.W is a weekly 2 hour syndicated old time radio radio program which broadcasts classic old time radio shows that aired in the 1930s-1970s and comes from the pages of comic books/strips.
The aim and goal is for the older demographics to relive the good old days of radio when they were growing up during the war/baby boomer era and also profile some of the great comic books/comic strips characters that ended up being on the radio back in the golden year. Now, the key is "The older demographic" because it give the older audience that opportunity to not only relive and listen to the shows they grew up with again...but to share it with their children or grand children or great grandchildren on how radio was back in the good old days and displaying the history of radio as well.
